The Cultural Heritage for Inclusive Growth was a two-year British Council programme - implemented in Kenya, Vietnam and Columbia - that seeks to build an understanding of Cultural Heritage in Kenya and how supporting Cultural Heritage can lead to inclusive growth. The project was to support inventive Cultural Heritage projects in Kenya for the benefit of social and economic welfare as well as create new connections between the UK and Kenya’s Cultural Heritage sector in order to build trust and understanding between the two regions.

We chose to bring the celebration of culture to a momentous climax on Mashujaa Day aka Kenya’s Heroes Day. Here, we highlighted several cultural heroes who are outstanding in their field. These heroes included trailblazers such as Chef Ali Mandhry, Mwalimu Gregg Tendwa, Filmmaker Wanuri Kahiu, Sauti Sol Band, Poet Mufasa Poet,writer Muthoni Garland, Designer Anne McCreath,among others.
Curiosity, interest and information were the foundations of our content. All our posts offered tidbits around culture, insight into the exciting projects that our partners were doing and engaging questions around traditions that hit close to home.
